14 Club Drill

Problem: Many players struggle to visualise how different clubs will react when they play shots with them.

Result: This leads to poor club selection when they are chipping and pitching out on the course which in turn leads to dropped shots.

Goal: To create a drill that helps the player to realise how each club reacts and the possibility of even learning how to use a club which you may have previously never considered using in a certain situation.

Practice Procedure:

For this drill you are going to need 14 balls and all of your clubs.

You are going to place the balls down just of the edge of the green ideally with nothing between you and the hole. Next starting with your putter work your way all the way through your set until you reach your driver on the 14th ball. Each club will require you to play the shot in front of you slightly differently based on the club which you are using.

The bonus of this drill is you just might find another great use for a club which you had previously never considered in these situations. This will develop your skill set and range of options when presented with tricky shots.
